  BUILDING ON THE LEGACY - WITH THE PREMIUM STOCK  

For over two years JL McBride's Pride has been our Senior Herd Sire, an elite product of Doug Hunt's great bull, Hunt's Jupiter.... He is huge -- around 2000 lbs, tall, with clean straight lines and 76" TTT.  His affections have been focused on our best ...cows from  top shelf genetics.  Just take a look at our heifers and heifer calves to see what he's producing.


A partnership was formed with Chris and Patrick Clark to purchase SDR Sparticus from Dave Hovingh.   SDR Sparticus projects into the  80's with outstanding size,  on track to becoming one of JP Rio Grande's  most impressive sons.   After taking him to the  Longhorn World Championships, we received such incredible offers for him, we sold Sparticus, but we will be using him through AI for some time to come.  We have since partnered on two  very outstanding young Bulls, a terrific young Tejas Star product, CDC Startex, measuring 64" T2T at just under 25 months old. He is double bred "Starlight"!  And to bring in 2012,  we have  purchased  "Red Grande", another terrific JP Rio Grande son, who is currently 75" TTT @ 41 months and will be passing 80" TTT before long

RED GRANDE
 Located thirty miles west of Corpus Christi, on the north bank of the  Nueces River,  this is wooded brushy bottom land.  It is an area where Longhorns begin and where the last held out --  Texas Longhorns are living history.  Bred into them is a quality. durability and  survival instinct developed over centuries. They have a unique rugged beauty and no two look exactly alike.   These traits we want to preserve as we strive toward producing "total package" registered Texas Longhorna with the longest horns "heaven will allow".
