Welcome to Tio Benito (Uncle Ben) Longhorns owned and operated by yours truly, Ben Liska.   I purchased two Longhorn steer calves as I was purchasing this ranch in 2006 -- My story is common ... a enthusiastic  interest in these cattle, the desire to own a couple... escalates and before long... a breeding program is well down the road ...ever improving cattle is the theme of this herd and raising premium breeding stock for us and others has become a reality.  

Located thirty miles west of Corpus Christi on the north bank of the  Nueces River,  this is wooded brushy bottom land.   Texas Longhorns have evolved by natural selection until recently, without man's interferance.  They represent so authentically Texas and American western heritage, -- that freedom is good and makes one tough and comes from The Creator.  Bred into them are qualities  and  survival instincts developed over centuries.   Texas Longhorn cows are some of the finest mothers in the animal kingdom.  Their rugged unique traits should be preserved as we strive toward producing  the longest horns "heaven will allow".    
 
In  April 2009,   JL McBride's Pride became our Senior Herd Sire, THE elite product of Doug Hunt's great bull, Hunt's Jupiter (the first one ton bull to pass 70"TTT).... Doug Hunt  stated that his Hunts Jupiter daughters are the best producers he has bred with Hunts Command Respect.  McBride's Pride has all the size, color, and horn one wants in their cattle.   Take a look at McBride's heifers --  he's producing.  

Liska/Clark partnership formed to purchase SDR Sparticus from Dave Hovingh.   After taking him to the LWC,  offers finally got to the point, we ended up selling him.    We will be using Sparticus for AI,  but we now have  "RR Red Grande",  a terrific JP Rio Grande son out of an El Presidente heifer.    "RED"  was over 75" TTT @ 41 months  ... he should be passing 80" TTT, making him one of JP Rio Grande's longest horned sons.  He's hit the ground here - and is hard at it.

Also, The Clarks at Circle Double C Ranch are using CDC Startex, a Tejas Star son we currently own together -- amazing horn lenght at 2 ... he was close to 64 inches T2T.  We look forward to see  both RR Red Grande and CDC Startex pass 80" and have their mark on our herds.
